🔥 [Before you pick a date] Only 7 days a year hit the top level?
Learning which dates to avoid sounds like a year of homework. Sorted busiest first, the top level covers only a thin slice of the year, and that slice clusters on weekends and public holidays. The list is short enough to remember.
We counted all 724 days of the year and sorted them busiest first. The top level, Packed, covers 7 days — 1% of the year. Include the level just below the top and it is 32 days, 4% of the year. Ahead of today the busiest is Dec 26 (Sat), at Packed.
The table pulls the 40 heaviest days out of the 534 still ahead. That is the reverse of most tables on this site, so the days at the top are the ones to avoid. The levels ranking them are our call on how heavy a date looks, not confirmed attendance.

🔥 Only 7 days hit the top level!
Out of 724 days, 7 come in at Packed — 1% of the year. "Busy all year" does not survive a day-by-day count.
On the seven-level scale, adding Busy brings it to 75 days. Counted on the finer scale it is 32 days. Either way, everything else sits outside it.
So the bad days are memorable. You are not learning a whole year; you are learning a few dozen dates.
📅 The weekend does the pushing!?
By day of week, Saturday is the heaviest at Normal and Thursday the lightest at Normal.
The 517 weekdays average Normal; the 207 weekend days Normal — the same level. When you are ruling days out, the weekday matters before the date does.
Heaviest first: Saturday, Monday, Sunday. The whole weekday pattern gets its own piece: crowds by weekday. Go by weekday alone, though, and a public holiday will catch you out.
🎌 What do public holidays change?
The year holds 35 public holidays. Depending on where they fall, they build long weekends, and the peaks move onto them.
Ahead of today the heaviest date is Dec 26 (Sat) at Packed. Room rates climb on 238 nights of the year. Busy days and expensive nights overlap often, but they are not the same list.
Long weekends answers which day of the break takes the load.
📋 This table runs busiest first!
It pulls the 40 heaviest days out of the 534 still ahead. That is the opposite order to our other tables, so the top rows are the ones to skip.
The lightest day of the year is Easy and the heaviest Packed — 5 steps apart. With that much range inside one year, moving your date is the cheapest fix you have.
🕊️ Choosing beats avoiding!
463 days, or 64%, sit below the yearly average. Ahead of today the quietest is Sep 15 (Tue) at Easy.
Picking a quiet day takes fewer decisions than deleting every busy one. Flip the same year over and you get the quietest days.
