πŸ”’ [Off-season plans] The park moves 3 levels β€” so why doesn't the room rate?

Plans often assume that picking a quiet season also picks a cheap room. Line the two seasons up against each other and only the park moves: the room rate band lands in the same place either way.

Only one of the two moved with the season. The 296 peak days average Fairly busy; the 206 quiet days average Easy β€” 3 levels apart. Room rates, on the same dates, land in the same average band for both. The season is not what sets your room rate.

Peak and quiet here are the days where our model finds a monthly push up or down, not calendar seasons. Each level is a forecast, not an attendance record.

πŸ”’ The park moves 3 levels between seasons!

The 296 peak days average Fairly busy; the 206 quiet days average Easy. That is 3 levels on our seven-step scale.

The commonest level is Normal at 51% in peak season and Easy at 67% in the quiet one. Crossing seasons moves the park somewhere else entirely.

The lightest peak day still reads Fairly easy; the heaviest quiet day tops out at Normal.

🏨 And the room rate band does not move at all!?

Read those same dates as room rates and peak season sits in the average band β€” and so does the quiet season, at average. Cross the seasons and the band stays exactly where it was.

Same calendar, and only the hotel side holds still. "Busy season, dear room" did not survive this comparison.

πŸ€” So does a quiet season buy a cheap night?

Every night lands on the rising side or the falling side, with no middle reading. A season whose average lands in the middle band therefore holds both rising and falling nights.

Picking the quiet season does not pick you a falling night. Choose by season and nothing about the room has been decided yet.

🧭 The weekday is what sets the room!

Ahead of today, the lightest peak day is Oct 12 (Mon) at Fairly easy and the heaviest is Dec 26 (Sat) at Packed. One season, that much range.

Seasons move the park; weekdays move the room. Midweek room rates has the hotel side, and Park crowds and room rates explains the split.

How much the month itself is worth is settled in Month by month.
