🛎️ [Only free on long weekends] All 21 mid-run days are "climbing" for rooms?
Choosing a day inside a long weekend looks like a question about crowds. Line up the room rates and a sharper split appears. The middle days fall on one side without exception, and the crowd numbers do nothing of the kind.
Inside a long weekend, the room rate lines up far more cleanly than the crowd does. Of the 724 days we score, 21 are mid-run days, gathered from 15 separate runs. All 21 of them land on the climbing side for room rates. The crowd level, by contrast, runs from Fairly easy to Packed.
The table lists the 16 mid-run days still ahead, quietest first. Days on the same level are not ranked against each other. Each level is what we expect of that date, not a record of how many came.

🎌 Only 21 days a year are mid-run days!
The factor fires on 21 of the 724 days we score, gathered from 15 separate runs. That is 3% of the window.
They average Fairly busy against Normal for the year, 1 level apart, and 5 of the year's 32 busiest days sit in here. A tiny slice of the calendar, pinned to the upper side.
💸 All 21 sit on the climbing side for rooms!?
Split those 21 days by room rate: 21 on the climbing side, 0 on the falling side. Not one mid-run day drops to the cheap side.
That said, 21 days from 15 runs is a small pile. This is not "mid-run days always behave this way" — it is what the 21 days inside this window did.
🤔 Is the crowd side just as tidy?
Only the room rate lined up. 6 days (29%) came in below the yearly average, the lightest at Fairly easy and the heaviest at Packed — 4 steps apart inside one label.
Of the 21 days, 15 are weekend days and 6 weekdays, averaging Fairly busy and Normal. Part of why mid-run days read high is simply that they lean onto weekends.
🧭 What bites is "is tomorrow off too?"!
A mid-run day has, by definition, another day off after it. Room rates read tomorrow rather than today, so mid-run days land on the climbing side automatically. This is the one-day offset between park and room, showing up in its purest form.
The mirror is the last day of a run, where the room rate flips end to end. The mechanism is in park crowds and room rates; which day of a run to pick is runs and school breaks.
