Disney crowd forecast 🗂️ [Picking a month] The count bottoms out in December, then climbs again in January?
A closure list tells you how many rides are down today, and today is not when you are going. Line up every published closure period by month and the count does not just fall away — partway along it climbs again. This article cuts them by month.
How many rides are down depends on which month overlaps which closure. We took the 9 closures running today, added the 15 that have not started yet, and counted by month. September is the heaviest at 13, December the lightest at 4. The count does not simply fall: January pushes it back up.
The monthly counts cover the 9 closures running today plus the 15 still to start. Only published periods are in them, so a closure not yet announced is not counted. We do not hold the names of the attractions. The chart below estimates how far the longest queue stretches at each crowd level.
🗂️ "Currently closed" is a different number every month!
September overlaps 13 of them (8 at Land, 5 at Sea). The heaviest month is September at 13, the lightest December at 4.
Recut the same list by month and the number of rides you cannot ride swings this far. The headline count is a reading of one single day. What is down today is attractions out of service.
📈 December is the floor, then January climbs again!?
The count does not decline in a straight line. From 4 in December, January adds 6 and returns to 10.
"The further out, the clearer it gets" does not hold here. New closures begin in some months, so a later date is not automatically a lighter one.

It is not. 9 attractions are down today, but 15 closures have not started yet: 10 at Land and 5 at Sea.
