📙 [Thursday visitors] Drop every holiday and break — where do the 103 Thursdays land?
A quiet weekday might just be a weekday the holidays happened to miss. We tested that on Thursday by dropping every public holiday and every school break and counting again. It came out lower, not higher.
Thursday keeps its low place even after the holidays are taken out. Of the 724 days we cover, 103 are Thursdays, and 72 of them — 70% — stay at or below the yearly average. Only 3 Thursdays fall on a public holiday. Even the highest Thursday of all stops at Busy.
Of the 76 Thursdays still ahead, the table lists the 40 quietest. Each level is what we expect of that date, not a record of how many came.

📙 Thursday hardly ever reaches the top bands!
Out of the 724 days we cover, 103 are Thursdays, 14% of the whole. They average Normal against Normal for the year — the same level.
By level, the top two bands (Fairly busy and Busy) hold 5 Thursdays, 5% of them. The shape matters more than the average: this day does not climb.
72 of them, 70%, stay at or below the yearly average.
🎌 Only 3 of the 103 are public holidays!?
3 of the 103 Thursdays fall on a public holiday. Holidays land unevenly across the week, so that count swings hard from one weekday to the next.
It is tempting to read the low number as luck: the holidays simply missed this day. That reading can be tested — drop them and count again. How holidays behave on their own is in holiday crowds.
🤔 Take the holidays out and does it climb?
Drop every public holiday and every school break and 92 Thursdays remain; 11 come out. Those 92 average Fairly easy.
Before the cut it was Normal. Taking them out pushed it down, not up. So the low number is not the calendar being kind.
The full weekday order on plain weekdays is in crowds by weekday; where to spend one day of leave is in picking a weekday.
🗓️ There is still a pick inside Thursday!
Split by level, the light end holds 27 at Easy, 29 at Fairly easy. Ahead of today the lowest is Sep 17 (Thu) at Easy, the highest Dec 31 (Thu) at Busy.
3 nights push room rates up; 100 pull them down. Thursday is the day where the park and the room both stay put. Park crowds and room rates has the mechanism.
